New Saxophone and Piano Work Recording Released

The premiere recording of Jonas’s new saxophone and piano work titled Pildid lapsepõlvest (Pictures of Childhood) is now available for purchase and streaming on all major platforms. The piece was recorded by saxophonist Rene Laur and pianist Joonatan Jürgenson.

 

Pildid lapsepõlvest is a three movement work: the second movement, titled Liisile (for Liisi), is dedicated in memory of Jonas’s cousin and one of his best childhood friends. The third movement, titled Gustav, is dedicated to his 5 year old nephew. The work is commissioned by Laur and Jürgenson.

The complete album has the first ever Estonian saxophone and piano work by Eduard Tubin, and Jonas has written the latest Estonian saxophone and piano work to date.
