Estonian National Symphony Orchestra Commission

The Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ENSO) and the Estonian Composers Union have commissioned Jonas to write a new work for the Estonian Music Days festival opening concert on April 22, 2022 at the Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn. The work will serve as the opening to the program.

The work will be conducted by Kaspar Mänd, Chief Conductor of the Pärnu City Orchestra.

The Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (Eesti Riiklik Sümfooniaorkester, ERSO) has become the most prominent Estonian orchestral ambassador abroad. It was created in 1926 as a small radio orchestra, but since then, it has increased its international scope, particularly in recent decades. Since the season 2020/21, its Chief Conductor and Artistic Director is Olari Elts. Neeme Järvi, the longest-serving chief conductor of the ERSO, continues to cooperate with the orchestra as Honorary Artictic Director for Life and the Artistic Adviser of the orchestra is Paavo Järvi.
